We’ve heard reports that some early manufactured models had problems with the piston leaking air, however they have now fixed the problem. We had no issues with the unit we tested; it felt very heavy duty and performed with out any problems. This is definitely a hardwood flooring nailer to consider replacing an older worn out model, or to tackle your first DIY job. We give it two thumbs up.

“This is my first experience with a cordless, framing nailer and it has not let me down. Framing a basement and I am able to build stud walls, soffits in a snap. It only jammed once, but was easy to clear, as I followed instructions (yes, I actually read the manuals, which need a bigger font). Toe-nailing is easy, once you figure the right nailing points. I was surprised at how light the tool is, despite its girth. You are tempted to nail so rapidly that you run out of nails quickly (sometimes less is best). It stops short of the end of a nail-pack, so you lose at least 5 or more, which is wasteful. I found that one gas cartridge lasts more than the box of nails (about 1-1/2), but I am still on the first battery. Loading the battery, gas cartridge and nails is fast and easy. I’m an amateur carpenter, but this tool is making me look like a pro. Make sure you wear ear & eye protection (glad they included safety glasses) and I recommend you wear a dust mask if inside (gas cartridge fumes). Love this tool so far.”

Being that I own the siding (4 years use) and framing (8 years use) versions Hitachi makes (both superior products), when it came time to get a second nailer for siding the choice was clear. For several years I have been contempating getting a coil framer. When sheeting walls on the ground I loose considerable time reloading with the stick framer. This gun holds over 225 nails in one coil! And should my stick framer blow a top seal, or sider fail, the NV75AG will allow me to continue.
The gun functions flawlessly, with both the depth adjustment on the gun and a non maring tip included. Hitachi includes all allen wrenches and fittings, something other makers should but don’t.

“Been doing carpentry for about 7 years now and this is the best gun out there. I’ve used the hitachi straight framers as well as the passloads. With this gun you can frame and side with ease. There’s no jaming like with the strip nails, no carrying heavy strips in you bags, and the gun is very light weight compared to the others. It is also more compact which enables you to place you nails in tight confined locations. I guarantee it will save you time and efforts in your framing and siding projects. I recommend getting the one piece hook that attaches with the airline fitting. The only thing this gun won’t do is completely shoot through double LVL’s (ie, nailing LVL Headers together) It leaves the 3″ framing nails about 1/2′ exposed. You just need to finish it up with a hammer. But this is a very minor inconvenience compared to the other benefits.”

“I have a Grex P650L, and it’s a very nice pinner. It doesn’t shoot slight head pins though. I got the Fasco because of the slight head feature. It’s nearly identical to the Grex. Both are high quality, and perform well. Most of the parts appear to be interchangeable.
Slight head helps a lot with softer woods and composites. Slight head let me do a bunch of cedar assembly. Headless pins were a bother to work with. Grex says they avoided slight head because of higher jamming rates, and bigger holes. The holes, yes. Still tiny though. Jamming, no. The Fasco hardly every jams or has any sort of problem.
Considering the rather large price difference, the Fasco is an easy choice to make. Fasco is a good value, and a great tool.”

“I received this Fasco pin nailer quickly (2 days) and it was well packaged. I have used a Grex P650L pin nailer and this one matched the quality and performance plus it adds the ability to shoot slight headed pins just like the Cadex.
I used this nailer right out of the box to install 200 linear feet of red oak shoe molding and not one jam – fasteners went in perfectly with just the right amount of depth. No wood filler was needed! I used the 1-1/2″ Grex pins for this project.
Word on the street is that it is made in the same factory as both Grex and Cadex nailers. Amazon was 30% less than these other nailers. I compared parts diagrams from all three manufacturers and 99% of parts looked identical.
In addition, I called Fasco directly for questions and there responses and customer service were terrific. They are a well known Italian company that specializes in fastening tools and equipment for manufacturers and professionals.”
